The 2023 Antipodes Festival Is Sure to Bring the Buzz

With only a few days away from the thrilling Antipodes Festival, once again we bring the buzz back to the historic Greek precinct on the 25^th and 26^th of February. The team is vigorously working behind the scenes with plenty new element in store for visitors of the renown festival.

This year’s main act will be the famous vocalist Alkistis Protopsalti who is eagerly awaiting to perform her most popular songs at the main stage of the Antipodes festival on Saturday 25 February.

Leo Vlahakis , Community Outreach + Cultural Programs Chair shared his excitement about the upcoming visit of Alkistis Protopsalti “ We are honoured that Alkistis is going to perform on this year’s 2023 Antipodes Festival. She is an artist with more than 40 years in the music industry. She has successfully created a following with people from all walks of life. We are certain that she will stun the crowd and create an electric atmosphere”.

The GCM vice president Jim Bossinakis also commented Alkistis Protopsalti appearance at the Antipodes Festival “Having this opportunity to see this worldwide famous artist live it is priceless. I am sure that the visitors of the festival will get the opportunity to enjoy her amazing songs as much as we do.”

This year GCM is partnering up with Scoot Airlines to offer a return ticket to Greece to the winner of the infamous “Zorba till you drop” on Saturday the 25^th of February. The contestants will dance their heart out until there is only one standing.

The Antipodes Festival will feature 80 stalls, three stages with live performances and extended trading hours at local Greek businesses across the weekend. Over seventy hours of music and dance performances are planned for the weekend, in addition to cooking demonstrations, “Karagiozis” shadow theatre, various competitions with amazing prizes to be won and bonus impromptu street performances by festival visitors.

The ANTIPODES FESTIVAL is the cultural arm of the Greek Community of Melbourne, which sees Melbourne’s Greek Quarter transform into one giant free street party, bringing together local and international performers, children’s activities, and food, for a weekend of fun and feasting. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the vibrant multiculturalism of Melbourne and to explore the beauty of Greek culture.

ΤΟ ΜΕΓΑΛΥΤΕΡΟ ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ ΑΝΤΙΠΟΔΕΣ ΕΠΙΣΤΡΕΦΕΙ ΣΤΟΝ ΙΣΤΟΡΙΚΗ ΔΡΟΜΟ ΤΗΣ ΟΔΟΥ ΛΟΝΣΝΤΕΪΛ ΣΕ ΛΙΓΕΣ ΗΜΕΡΕΣ

Λίγες ημέρες απομένουν πριν την επιστροφή του συναρπαστικού Φεστιβάλ Αντίποδες και για άλλη μια φορά ο δρόμος της οδού Λόνσντεϊλ θα γεμίσει με επισκέπτες από κάθε γωνία της Μελβούρνης, το Σάββατο και την Κυριακή 25& 26 Φεβρουαρίου. Η ομάδα του Φεστιβάλ εργάζεται εντατικά στα παρασκήνια και υπόσχεται να φέρει συναρπαστικές εκπλήξεις.

Φέτος, η Άλκηστις Πρωτοψάλτη θα εμφανιστεί ζωντανά στην κεντρική σκηνή του Φεστιβάλ Αντίποδες. Η διεθνούς φήμης ερμηνεύτρια ανυπομονεί να βρεθεί στην Μελβούρνη και είναι σίγουρο ότι θα προσφέρει ένα μοναδικό θέαμα στους θεατές.

Ο Λεωνίδας Βλαχάκης, Πρόεδρος Πολιτιστικών Προγραμμάτων της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας (ΕΚΜ) μοιράστηκε τον ενθουσιασμό του για την επερχόμενη εμφάνιση της Άλκηστις Πρωτοψάλτη « Είναι μεγάλη μας τιμή που θα επισκεφτεί και θα ερμηνεύσει τα τραγούδια της η Άλκηστις. Είναι πραγματικά μια αξιόλογη ερμηνεύτρια με πάνω από 40 χρόνια επιτυχημένης πορείας στο μουσικό στερέωμα. Αναμφισβήτητα, οι θαυμαστές της προέρχονται από όλες τις ηλικιακές ομάδες και είμαστε βέβαιο ότι η ατμόσφαιρα που θα δημιουργήσει θα είναι μοναδική»

Ο Δημήτρης Μποσινάκης, Αντιπρόεδρος της ΕΚΜ δήλωσε « Έχουμε την ευκαιρία να έχουμε κοντά μας φέτος την Άλκηστις Πρωτοψάλτη, η μοναδική φωνή της καθώς και η παγκόσμια επιτυχία της είναι διαχρονική. Ανυπομονούμε να την απολαύσουμε από κοντά και είμαστε σίγουροι ότι θα συναρπάσει το κοινό της Μελβούρνης».

Φέτος για πρώτη φορά η ΕΚΜ ενώνει της δυνάμεις τις με την αεροπορική εταιρία Scoot ή οποία προσφέρει ένα εισιτήριο μετ’ επιστροφής στον νικητή του διαγωνισμού «ZORBA TILL YOU DROP” το Σάββατο 25 Φεβρουαρίου.

Το πρόγραμμα του Φεστιβάλ θα περιλαμβάνει μουσική, δημοτικούς ελληνικούς χορούς, θέατρο σκιών (Καραγκιόζη), διαγωνισμούς, επιδείξεις μαγειρικής και πολλά πολλές εκπλήξεις!
