The ANTIPODES FESTIVAL is the cultural arm of the Greek Community of Melbourne, which sees Melbourne’s Greek Quarter transform into one giant free street party, bringing together local and international performers, children’s activities, and food, for a weekend of fun and feasting.It’s the perfect way to celebrate the vibrant multiculturalism of Melbourne and to explore the beauty of Greek culture.
The 2024 Antipodes Festival will have MELINA ASLANIDOU as this year’s main act.
The Antipodes Festival is one of Melbourne’s largest street festivals & one of the largest celebrations of Greek culture in the world. Organised by the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) since 1987, the 2-day cultural extravaganza is set in the historic Lonsdale St Greek Quarter in the heart of Melbourne. The Festival presents over 70 hours of programmed entertainment featuring 500+ performers across 3 stages & supported by 80+ pop up market stalls plus extended trade from the historic Greek precinct’s traders. A landmark on City of Melbourne’s cultural calendar, the festival attracts over 80,000 people from across the country to its program & features extensively in national & international media.

About Melina Aslanidou
Melina Aslanidou (instagram) stands as one of the most successful singers of her generation.
Renowned for her remarkable vocal range and unique songs, Aslanidou has carved a niche for herself.
Joining us direct from Greece, her music fuses the traditions of Greek folk, entechno music, and pop. Known for her hits such as “To Lathos,” “De Vazeis Myalo,” and “Den Einai Agapi Afto.”
Her performance will deliver an unforgettable experience, blending her musical prowess with a vibrant celebration of Greek culture.
