Event Details

The Greek Student Film Festival returns for its 12th year to showcase a selection of films from primary and secondary students of the Greek Language. The festival offers students the opportunity to utilise their Greek Language skills to tell stories of their own. Through this we hope to encourage students to develop skills in collaboration and confidence in presenting their ideas, and in doing so perhaps inspire some filmmakers of the future.

The selected works are short films within the genres of fiction, animation or documentary, which incorporate a given theme. This year’s theme is ‘Children Know Everything’ and participants were asked to interpret the following question:

How do children’s unique wisdom and innate understanding of the world offer fresh perspectives and profound insights often overlooked by adults?

Each short film must also include the signature item, which this year is a window.

Screening will be followed by an Awards Ceremony.

The project in Victoria is presented by the following organizations: Greek Film Festival, Greek Community of Melbourne, Education Office of the Consulate General of Greece in Melbourne, Department of Education and Training and the Modern Greek Teacher’s Association of Victoria.
